Environmental Compliance

The RoHS directive

The purpose of the RoHS directive (2002/95/EC- Restriction on Hazardous Substances) is the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in EEE to the protection of human health and to contribute to the environmentally sound recovery and disposal of WEEE. The "producers" have to ensure that after the 1st July 2006 the amount of the materials listed below is restricted in EEE and corresponding spare parts.

  • Lead (Pb)
  • Mercury (Hg)
  • Cadmium (Cd)
  • Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6)
  • Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB)
  • Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE)

Exceptions are for medical and military devices and spare parts for repair or reuse of EEE put on market before 1st July 2006 or listed in the directives.

Sicovend is aware about this and considers it in all its activities.
